I just downloaded Thomas Woods' book "Nullification" onto my Kindle. I'm looking forward to reading it. Here is an interview with Prof. Woods on the subject. (38 minutes long.)
Please, when you’ve finished reading it, could you write a review and drop a comment at my blog alerting me to it?
Off hand, nullification sounds like one feasible approach.
Perhaps we could also tackle the beast from within. I would like to see Constitutional Conservatives in the Federal government run through the Federal budget and eliminate every line item which is not directly authorized by Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution (while tossing aside the entirely bogus Leftist interpretation of the “general welfare” clause in favor of the interpretation offered here by Lt. Col. -- now Congressman -- Allen West).
Either way, it will be a long, hard fight which has only just begun. You can bet that your state and mine will be laggards in that fight.

VH,
Looks like a very interesting book.
It appears that (at the moment) most Amazon reviewers hold the book in high regard.
