I watched that the other night while I was laid up on the couch. I'm looking forward to Stossel's special next week.

It is a shame that some Americans are so gullible, to the outlandish propaganda and lies spat in the newspapers, television and radio about Obama’s health care agenda. They have demonized the British, Canadian and other worthy plans. Hidden under a disguise cover, these radical entities are determined to keep the special interest organizations in absolute power. Comprising of the money-draining profitable insurance companies and their rich stockholders. They don't want any changes to the broken system of medical care, because it will hurt the status quo. I was born in England, in the county of Sussex and until the inception of the European Union and the European Parliament dictating to Britain. That they must accept millions of foreign workers, the nations medical system was exemplary. I never had to wonder if I would have to file bankruptcy, to pay my medical bills, or listen to the incessant ring of debt collectors on the phone.

On several occasions I ended up in the cottage hospital and their was never a cost applied to it, never a ream of paperwork. Incidentally, I choose my own doctor where I Lived. The longest I waited for surgery was three months, as it was not an emergency. No doctor, no hospital or specialist asking me for my Social Security number, drivers license or if I was covered by a predatory for-profit insurer. No premiums, no-cops and pre-existing condition clauses. Yes! Didn't have a private room, but who cares? Today the British Isles is being submerged under a barrage of legal and illegal immigrants, who have never paid into the system, have caused some rationing. Prior to the importation of foreign labor my trips to doctor, to hospital, the eye or a dentist was paid from my taxation. Unless we pass a national health care agenda, Americans will never know what it's like to breeze through their lives, without worrying about paying for health care? Tell your Senators and Congressman you want an alternative to the--GET RICH-- insurance companies, before a Universal health care is killed. 202-224-312 REMEMBER THE INVESTORS AND STOCKHOLDERS DON'T WANT THEIR PIECE OF THE $$$TRILLION$$$ DOLLAR PIE DISTURBED. EVEN SOME POLITICIANS HAVE THEIR DIRTY FINGERS IN THE PIE?
AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE PRIVATE HEALTH CARE, A GOVERNMENT SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM WILL ASSIST IN REVITALIZING THE WILTING US ECONOMY.

Brittanicus - apparently you really aren't paying attention or have read this bill either. Illegals and non-U.S. citizens are covered under this plan as well. This plan becomes exactly what you hated your universal plan had become - only we're starting out that way.

You also don't understand how health insurance doesn't work here either. Our premiums could be lower if there weren't so many damned regulations and government MANDATED coverages. I have to pay for mammograms, pap smears, and birth control in my premiums - yet - as a male - I will never use those services. There are other examples just like this all across this country.

Not to mention the fact that the government requires 100% reserves. Each insurance company is mandated by the government to carry 100% of all potential liability (claims) in reserve - this too drives up the cost of the premiums.

The only people who benefit from this Obamacare are the government and large corporations who get to force their employees in to the government plans. The insurance companies are not getting as rich as you might think. I used to work for a health care insurer at one time in my life. Sure, there are some things that are questionable - but - I would still rather have my physicians and insurance nurse case managers making the decisions about my healthcare instead of government bureaucrats. If you think that isn't going to happen - you should read the bill. There will be several different "committees", "commissions" and "administrations" set up within the government that directly oversee who gets to receive care and who doesn't. It takes the decisions making away from our physicians.

Our system isn't perfect - but it is better than anything else in the world.

What do you think of the "rich" food industry stockholders? Do you also believe that they are getting "rich" on the back of those that eat? Should all food production be nationalized in order to satisfy your notion of a fair and just distribution of food stuff? Libertarians and free market advocates are not pro-insurance companies or their "rich" stockholders--we are pro markets. The reason that the American health care system is in such a twist is due to the massive government intervention that has distorted any real semblance of a market place. In any other industry that there is less government intervention, like food production, the world has seen lower prices, better quality, more choices, and quicker delivery. In any other industry where there is less government intervention we find that technological advances reduce prices, like food production. Ask yourself why hasn't it happened in the health care industry and you may have an honest answer beyond the pedestrian bromide of "the rich stockholder."

I thank you for your comment.

Several people don't have to be anxious about spending money on for their individual medical bills or about choosing insurance policy due to the fact they stay in countries where their governments consider health care of individuals. However, for the remainder of all of us, we are much better off choosing into a wellness insurance cover plan, such as a group health insurance plan. But how do you secure into one of these kind of programs and exactly what are they?

A group health policy is not really for family members or single people. It is bought by firms who prefer to provide their precious staff with health protection. For worker to prefer into the corporation health insurance plan, he / she must work a certain amount of period each 7 days or more.

All insurance coverage plans are totally different. They will come at different expenses and will include different kinds of factors. To uncover out what your insurance plan details are, you will require to consult your boss about your insurance policy, so anyone can find out how it works out.
